to preserve

I found some violets and pansies popping up in my yard, so I decided to sugar them.

It’s an easy process: coat the flower in egg white, then sprinkle it with superfine sugar and let it dry.

The work was a little tedious, but now my flowers are preserved and ready to decorate desserts. The thought of little flowers adorning a cupcake charmed me.
